About SW9 Community Housing

SW9 Community Housing is a resident-led social housing charity responsible for the delivery of housing management and maintenance services for around 1,800 homes and several commercial and community buildings in Stockwell/Brixton on behalf of a G15 Housing Association, Sovereign Network Group (SNG).

Being a community-based organisation, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Technical Surveyor, with a focus on service delivery and a people-centre approach. With a turnover of £11m, and rising, and in excess of £150million of inward investment provided by SNG (formerly Network Homes) over the last 10 years we have ambitious plans for the future, and we want a like-minded visionary to join us on this journey.

About the Role

As a Repairs & Voids Surveyor, you will lead the surveying function for void properties and day-to-day responsive repairs. Your responsibilities will include accurate diagnosis, clear specifications, quality delivery, statutory compliance, and ensuring an excellent resident experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in the housing sector while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveys and inspections to assess property conditions.
  • Manage repairs and void processes effectively, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. 
  • Coordinate with contractors and service providers to deliver high-quality work.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation related to repairs and voids.
  • Support residents with queries and concerns, maintaining a customer-focused approach.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in property surveying or a related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, standards, and housing legislation. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. 
  • A degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (professional qualifications such as RICS accreditation are desirable).
