Join us as an apprentice this September

We are looking for a new apprentice at SW9 Community Housing. As our apprentice you would be working in the SW9 Community Housing office on Stockwell Park Estate 4 days a week and would attend a Business Administration course at Lambeth College 1 day a week. The scheme will run for 12 months from September 2018.

If you live in a property managed by us, then you are eligible to apply for our Apprenticeship Scheme. This scheme is open to residents of any age.

The work you would be carrying out at SW9 will be in the Resident Engagement team, but you will also be required to help out across the organisation, gaining experience and learning new skills in many areas.

The course at Lambeth College would be free of charge to you as our apprentice and you would also receive a salary from us above the apprentice minimum wage.

This scheme has been hugely successful in the past. Many of our previous apprentices continue to work at SW9 Community Housing and Network Homes. They now work in full time roles such as Income Officer, Assistant Project Manager, Customer Services Officer and Aftercare Assistant.

Last year, Israel Aguirre-Taipe joined the scheme. He has gained a lot of valuable experience working in our Community Engagement team. He has helped with organising resident events, setting up our Youth Programme, running our social media and also providing valuable support to other departments in the business, gaining a wide breadth of skills and knowledge.

Being an apprentice at SW9 has been an eye-opening experience to the housing sector and is proving to be a useful and interesting year.
