We are pleased to announce that our work with Insite Energy at Stockwell Park has been shortlisted for District Heating Project of the Year at the 2016 H&V News Awards.
The project has been nominated for the District Housing Project of the Year award, which rewards talent and innovation in the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) and building services industries. The project was developed with Insite Energy, an organisation who provides metering, billing and payment services.
Several residents at the 148 home development in Stockwell Park had begun to get into heat energy debt to levels that would be difficult to pay back; a problem that was worsening each month.
The project used new technology, data analysis and improved processes to make the payment of energy bills more manageable for Stockwell Park residents.
This has stopped debt build-up, reduced historic debt and helped to protect residents from future energy debts. And our vulnerable residents can now benefit from early assistance to avoid heat energy debts.
Anthony Coates-Smith, Insite Energy’s business development director, said: “We are very proud to have been named as a finalist in the H&V News Awards. This project is a sustainable and financially sound metering and billing solution and a blueprint for many other social housing sites on heat networks throughout the country. We will be rolling out similar projects in 2016.”
Delroy Rankin, Executive Director, Community Trust Housing said: “Congratulations to Insite Energy on being shortlisted for this award. We’re really pleased with the results of our work together on the project as it has produced both environmental and people-orientated results. Not only has it encouraged improved energy consumption, it’s helped reduce resident debt by giving us an ability to identify vulnerable residents not using their heating systems efficiently. This is exactly the type of project we should be doing more of across the sector.”
The results will be announced on 21 April at the Awards Gala Dinner and Ceremony, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
