About SW9 Community Housing

SW9 Community Housing is a resident-led social housing charity responsible for the delivery of housing management and maintenance services for around 1,800 homes and several commercial and community buildings in Stockwell/Brixton on behalf of a G15 Housing Association, Network Homes.  Being a community-based organisation, we are seeking to recruit a part-time Senior HR Adviser working four days a week. With a turnover of £9.3m, and rising, and in excess of £150million of inward investment provided by Network Homes over the last 10 years we have ambitious plans for the future, and we want a like-minded visionary to join us on this journey.

About the role:

The successful postholder will line manage the HR Adviser and provide a first-class business-focussed HR service. As a ‘trusted’ partner they will provide a dedicated service across SW9 maintaining a high level of client focus and professionalism across a broad range of activities including employee relations casework, change assignments, or business improvement processes. The postholder will provide strategic lead on HR functions within the business and support the Senior Leadership Team and operational mangers when required.

About you:

In this role, you will be CIPD (chartered) qualified or have equivalent experience and be able to evidence continual professional development as an HR practitioner. You will be expected to be a forward-thinker, have up-to-date knowledge and understanding of HR best practice, and a thorough understanding of the practical application of employment law.

You will have sound experience of managing and bringing to a successful conclusion complex and contentious HR casework (e.g. discipline, grievance, capability, absence, etc.) and managing organisational change projects – restructuring and TUPE processes. You will be responsible for managing the recruitment needs of the business from beginning to end. You will also have good communication skills, with the ability to draft and review policies and present management information to a range of audiences.
